Refuge Gang Hunt 2003
hunt pics plus......
Folks.....had
an absolute awesome two days of goose hunting with Bay Prairie
Outfitters on the Refuge Gang Hunt
2003...
It was a pleasure putting a lot of new faces to
names......There are too many to list here but we had a great
Texas turnout. The boys from Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama
and Pennsylvania definitely made the weeknd interesting.
Almost forgot.....we also got to meet the infamous Duck
Lorange who came all the way from Iceland to hunt
again.
As Coastal Ducks said in a previous thread we
had some unbelievable wing shooting. I have never seen so many
geese in all my life. The first day brought wave after wave of
large numbers of geese including a tornado of thousands
directly over our heads. I wish I had my camera at that point
but I didn't want to screw anything up by taking pics. No
words can describe the amount of geese we had above us and
drop in our spread in that instance. It literally felt like we
were in a dome of geese. Saturday was a different story with
the birds coming in consistent groups of 1-5 with a fewer big
groups all morning long.
Our guide Mark was top notch
and a hard working dude for sure. We were lucky enough to get
him in the same field both days . Friday the field was dry as
a bone and easy setting up. Saturday was a water-logged mess
as you will see in the pics.
This pic is a dinner
Thursday evening after we arrived. I can't remember the name
of the restaurant but it was some good food except for the
golf ball hard hush puppies.
Starting
on the left and working back is: jpac (OK), Quackinator (TX),
waterrat (OK), Half Breed, txduckcaller, limbshot (OK),
primeduck, Mudmann (OK), duckhunt 4 (MS), MSDuckmen (MS),
Stretch, Gmann (nice face) and Auto. Side table on right is
duckhunt_4 (MS) and MBDux.
