Hey, don't forget our group

It was a great hunt, and we really enjoyed meeting y'all. We finally pulled in to the house at 1:00 this afternoon (2000miles round trip ).

Our group had a good goose hunt as well Friday (59, and quit at 9:30). I really feel bad (and somewhat lucky) that the third group didn't, but I think most of them joined in the fun Saturday.

I did this to meet some of you, and also for my son's 15th birthday. Unfortunately, he now wants this present every year , so I'll start a fund soon.

From left to right:
Mudman, Quackinator, Txduckcaller, Half-Breed, 'tween_fly_ways, and Carson (tween's son)

As for the 350+ bird body count, it would have been a lot higher if the Mississippi boys had the killing instinct going. They did slip off and kill some farm raised Chukar….but I’m not counting them.

HEHEHE
Yeah I know but somehow standing in the middle of a marsh that smells like an out-house and shooting trash birds didn't inspire a killing instinct. Didn't fire a shot except to wake the guides dog up because his snoring was wearing on my nerves and it was worth the 40 bucks I had to pay to replace the guides spinner. We did see three Pintails that flew within a mile.
And yes we shot some Chukar and had a good time doing it. Walked about two miles of Texas scrub brush and the dogs managed to flush 30 birds for us to shoot and we did manage to kill 26 of those. let four get away. Was suppose to be 40 but that was another story. Never done it before and Duckhunt4 was wanting a pheasant big time. Only to find out that their ad was false and the only birds they had were Chukar. We'll be doing it next year in Kansas and Canada.

All in all I had a fine time and coming down there had a lot less to do with killing and much more to do with meeting some of these knot heads that post on here.
I learned quite a bit also.
I learned you can hunt ducks over plastic if you don't have water.
(I really liked that guy, he can talk some stuff.)
I learned you can claim to cut someones tire that was hunting to close and not a single person will tell you that it is wrong.
Learned that some of these guides from this outfit somehow forgot who the paying customers were when they started chewing out one of our group for not shooting. (It was not a Mississippi boy either) Thought there was going to be a fight right in the middle of the rice field.
And learned that AQ can't communicate with humans and most everyone wondered why he can post so much crap on the internet and yet you have to make him talk to you cause he surely won't do it on his own. Regardless he's an alright fella. (Good lord did I say that?)
I rated the entire Bay outfit a 4 out of a possible 10. Many personal reasons only but that's my right.
Was glad to get home last night by 9:30 which gave us time to rest for this morning hunt in real duck country. Our limit of Mallards let me know quick that... There is no place Like home....

It was great to meet you boys and I hope you all have a very productive season. The trip was worth meeting you boys.

Dan

Wasn't that just one guide out of the 10 that we had the whole weekend?

Come on Dan....we were all meeting new people and this guy told a story about a run-in that he had with an azzhole. I don't remember everybody agreeing with it or saying it was OK.......you gotta feel people out before you voice an opinion unless, of course, you're from the great state of Mississippi.

Good seeing you Mississippi boys again...it was good to rekindle some old memories. ..sorry you fellas didn't enjoy our state. Maybe one of these days you can come my way and enjoy some "other" duck country outside of the United States of Mississippi.

Yes that is correct... Most were fine people.

BAWHAHAHAHA
Now Skack attack most of these here boys were already geared up to meet each other. I thought up that old story on the way down and told Duckhunt4 that I would get that reaction before I said it. I know more about some of these here people than you might think.
I didn't meet a single person that I didn't like. As for your state I didn't say I didn't enjoy it. (Just a few things about the Service provided by our host)
I look forward to the next outing and will do what I can to be there.
Enough of this chit chat I'm off to camp, I have birds a calling me.

Dan

MSDuckmen,

Dan, I enjoyed hunting next to you on day 2. Next time, we call the shots, huh? Hope to have the chance to hunt with you again sometime.

Actually it was two guides that day.

One used a few explitives in telling me I should shoot when he said shoot. I used a few explitives to tell him I'd shoot when I felt the shot was appropriate. Ain't nobody gonna tell me when I "have to" pull a trigger.

There was no safe, steady way for me to make that shot at the time it was called. Someone else could have, and I believe they did.

The other fella just insulted Half-Breed and myself for having the nerve to voice our opinions openly. No big deal. Most folks can't handle my opinions anyway. Got a good laugh out of it with the Refugees back at the lodge.

Dan-
Someone must have sensed it coming, seeing as you picked up and hauled it to the other end of the spread! LOL!

I didn't hear about that one....I thought he pretty much broke you and the other guide up.

Don't you fellas know 100 yard shots are easy on the prairie?... Damn we can't take you and Half Breed anywhere......Troublemakers...

I had a great time. Got to see some members I have met before and got to meet some new ones. All in all a great time.

I think pound for pound the spread we cooked on Friday was prolly the most expensive wild game feast I have ever seen. I figured we were eating $60/lb food and everyone ate about 2 lbs!!!

Once again it was a real good time. I appreciate having a place like the Refuge that enables events like this to happen.

It was an incredible time, and I ate more than 2lbs of food. I think I was in a food coma that night when I went to bed.
