Some of the best traditional mexican food in the nation, according to people who write articles about such things. Consitently rated nationally for authentic mexican. Near the top of the heap in Zagats for houston usually for mexican food (their slogan is "NO TEX-MEX").

I'm a big fan of the Plato Huateco for lunch, the chilaquiles are an excellent cure for a hangover. They also make some great tacos, the spicy pork taco being my favorite. I can order anything off the menu and I always have to get a spicy pork taco for an appetizer.

Not cheap, look to pay about double for what tex-mex costs, but well worth it IMHO.

have to agree with you on that! it's in "da hood", but it's the best AUTHENTIC mexican food i've ever had!
