Gave it the first official hunt this weekend.
Guys this in the only way to fly. I think I'm even going to quit putting the stuff in a knot and just drop the deeks in the bag with the end of the line hanging out of the top.
They toss out like normal, you just ain't got to unwind them. Picked up eight dozen deeks in reocrd time, just walked through the speard and grabbed the line.
Super great.

It works great. I rigged up some a little different this year. I used regular strap weights instead of bank sinkers. They worked just fine and didn't have any problems with them. If the need ever arises I can still wrap them up like tradionally would be done.
Brad, how long do you think it took us to pick up, like maybe 10 min, if that? That was 6 doz decoys.

Less than that, we had to deal with the sinker dekes, it would have been faster w/o those. Very slick. How did you rig up your loops there were twisted like that?Coastal Ducks wrote:It works great. I have put 6 ft of line on mine. I had them in a decoy sack in groups of six, with the bundles of line knotted twice, once close to the deeks and once on the ends.
I ended up just dumping the sacks, undoing the kots and pulling the deks out and chunking them. If there was ever going to be a tangle, there would have been there. I did it all in the dark, without a flash light, by feel.
I'm going to look for ome of those big laundry clips like we used to have in school. I think those would work great. Also thought about bending me some clips out of stainless welding rod. Carabiners would work for sure, I just don't feel like paying fro something that I suspect the spring would rust out in a season.
I doubt I will even knot the lines anymore. Just drop the deeks in the sack or onto the floor of the boat and keep the loop ends toether.
Thanks for the tip Coastal. You have made life for a big spread hunter a whole lot easier.

i did the depth adjusters/tangle free/egg weights and tried them out this weekend...worked awesome! instead of dragging the dam bag around picking up i just grabbed the line and carried them all together...the next day just dumped em out, grabbed the line and threw them out...saved about 30 minutes or so!
