Pintail Desprigging

Post by Do'Nob »

Sick of sprigs poking you in the back and holes in your decoy bags?

Well, cut them off with a hack saw, get a can of inflating insulating foam, plug up the back, trim off the extra after it cures and paint over the foam, you now have sprigless pintail dekes.

After I cut mine off I take a torch or a heat gun and melt the plastic and mash it together with a pair of plyers so that the hole is sealed.
Shoot that darn thing already!!!

Was not sure until I opened the thread if you were talking about decoys or birds. What I pull on one eyed jack (Pat) is to tell him there was a band on that last bird and then when he jumps out of the blind I yank all the tail feathers.
